Green Tea to fight the flu

Updated: Jan 22, 2019

At this time of the year many are affected by various types of viruses.

But perhaps only a few know that regular consumption of tea can help fight the flus or prevent them (three cups a day are recommended).

Researches offer many proofs about the health benefits of tea in is pure leaves form.

First of all, loose-leaf tea (especially the green) is a powerful antioxidant thanks to its polyphenols, catechins and flavonols. This compound protects the body's cells from damages caused by free radical activity in the body.

We can also find others important ingredients in green tea (but also in White, Oolong or Black teas even if in lower concentration) such as vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, E, Zinc, Selenium, Magnesia. All together help to fight infections and strengthen the immune system and protect against flu, cold and inflammations.

Tea is not only a simple beverage but also an officinal herb tha has been used for centuries in the traditional medicine in Chine and Japan.
