Green Tea: The Purest from China
Green tea comes in many varieties so the taste can be different, from gently nutty to verdant and grassy. We selected the best from China, the largest producer in the world. Our range of green teas are fresh, sappy and velvety. Choose the one that best suits your palate.
White Tea: The Finest from China
A true delicacy! White tea is one of the most delicate tea variety because it is so minimally processed. It is harvested before the leaves are opened fully and the young buds are still covered by fine 'white' hairs. Downy hairs are considered a sign of quality. Poets referred to these special teas as being, “white like the clouds, green like a dream, pure like snow, and as aromatic as an orchid.” The rareness of the tea trees and short harvest time cause the price of white tea to be higher than other varieties.
Yellow Tea: The Rarest from China
DELICATE, SWEET AND REFRESHING - If you have already tried green tea but want something sweeter, it's time to spoil yourself with a Yellow Tea cup! It is a rare type of tea produced only in China and subjected to light oxidation but the process for making yellow tea requires a lot of skill. In ancient China, yellow teas were only produced for and consumed by the Emperor and his court during the Ming (1368–1644AD) and Qing (1644 to 1912AD) Dynasties. As the name suggests, it is yellow in colour, both the leaves and the infusion.
Oolong Tea: Mystical experience from China
“Oolong” comes from the Chinese Wu Long, which means “The Black Dragon.” It is a traditional Chinese tea between green tea and black tea in oxidation (semi-oxidized). Oolong come in hundreds of varieties. Tea connoisseurs classify the tea by its aroma (often floral or fruity), taste and aftertaste. While most oolongs can be consumed immediately post production, many others can benefit from long aging. The most famous and expensive Oolong tea are made in Wuyi mountains.
Black Tea (China Red): Premium from China
More than just tea in a bag! Black tea is the most popular type of tea in western countries. Maybe because it has a longer storage life than green, white or oolong tea, so was better suited for the long transport time during the early days of European / Asian trade. To produce black tea, the leaves undergo more oxidation when compared to green, white, oolong teas. This not only results in darker tea leaves, but also a stronger and more intense taste. The most popular method of serving Black Tea in the West is adding milk or sugar to reduce the natural astringency and bitterness of Black Tea, but In China and other parts of Asia, it is usually served straight. Among Black Tea we can count outstanding and rare varieties. The premium tea ages well and improves over time. The best whole leaf Black Teas are made by hand, in contrast to the commercial CTC (Crush-Tear-Curl) of tea-bags.
Black Tea: The Classics from India
"The one land that all men desire to see, and having seen once by even a glimpse would not give that glimpse for the shows of the rest of the world combined" wrote Mark Twain about the Tea Gardens in Darjeeling region. India is one of the world's leading countries in tea production and it grows some of the very best. Though it produces all varieties of tea, it is best known for its black teas, including Assam and Darjeeling. The geography of India allows for many different climatic conditions, and the resulting teas can be distinctive from each other. In general, the black teas of India are known to be strong, but some have delicate flavours. Assam tea comes from the northeastern section of the country. Darjeeling, instead, is from the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains at altitudes of 600 to 2,000 meters. The tea is exquisite and delicately flavored and considered to be one of the finest teas in the world.
